Paint Protection for Teslas
Norm Schilling, Owner of Capital PPF is the only Installer and has 20 years experience. Capital PPF uses Suntek Ultra which is hydrophobic and self-healing and comes with a 10 year warranty. Norm can protect high impact areas only or your full vehicle!
The minimum suggested areas would be your Front Bumper and your Full Hood due to the forward facing slope of all Tesla hoods. Most customers choose to also protect their Full Fenders, Headlights and Mirrors for full front facing protection. If you have a Model 3 or a Model S your rocker panels are painted and will collect rock chip damage from your front tires (your lower doors will also).
The Difference is in the Details
Matte (Stealth) Conversions
Wanting to get a Gloss Paint to Matte PPF conversion to change the look? If their price is the same for Gloss PPF Full Vehicle and Matte PPF Full Vehicle this may be a red flag. Matte conversions *should* take more time and attention to detail to hide as much visible gloss paint as possible. If they are charging the same price it is likely they are putting only the same amount of effort into the installation, not going above and beyond for your vehicle to have the best end results. Look at the detailed pictures in our gallery to see the Capital Difference!
From our Tesla Customers
Model 3
"Capital PPF did an amazing job protecting my Tesla! They invited me to come take a look around their studio to see the work they had already done and were very knowledgeable about everything. Norm did a great job installing my film, and because he custom fits everything to the car, it is truly invisible! They are upfront about what to expect and I am very happy with my results and highly recommend everyone to Capital PPF!"
Model Y
PPF was applied to the front bumper, hood and along the bottom third of the sides where stones are bounced onto them by the wheels. Norm also suggested a small patch of PPF on the rear below the hatch where things can scrape the paint while loading and unloading the cargo area. The job was completed quickly and professionally within 24 hours of my getting the car with no surprises. The service exactly matched the quote. There was great communication during the quote phase, the appointment phase and post application follow-up. I HIGHLY recommend Capital PPF. The car looks great.
Model Y
I cant say enough about the amazing work, detail, and professionalism of Capital PPF! After a lil research and contacting a few different PPF Shops, I decided to put my White 2020 Tesla Model Y in the hands of Mr Schilling. I reached out to him via email for a quote, and received a very detailed response within 24hrs. Any and everything I needed to know in regards to the PPF process was outlined in his email response. He gave me an amazing deal and also recommended a couple guys that would come and Ceramic Coat my Tesla while it was at his shop. Norm stayed in touch with me via text throughout the process and even finished the job earlier than expected. My Tesla looks amazing and I highly recommend his work. No pun intended but, he and his wife made this PPF installation process very “SEAMLESS!” They definitely deserve my 5 stars!
Model Y
They did a fantastic job on our 2020 Tesla Model Y Performance. They take great care and pride in his work and it shows. You can’t even tell it’s been wrapped with PPF, the seams don’t show. The quality of the materials they use are great. They gave us excellent customer service as well. I HIGHLY recommend them. I refer all my Tesla friends to them for this type of work.
common Questions
We can protect as little or as much of your vehicle as you want. A good technique is to stand in front of your vehicle and see what is forward facing that needs protected from road debris & rocks.
PPF is a poly-urethane clear film that is designed to make rocks and other road debris bounce upon impact instead of damage your paint.
Ceramic Coating is a great long-term wax that can be applied on top of your paint. However, it will NOT prevent rock chips. Only PPF can prevent actual damage from road debris.
PPF needs to be applied before Ceramic Coating. Ceramic Coating can be applied on top of the film and the rest of your vehicle.
Yes you can, but there is a strong possibility that the ceramic coating will need to be removed on the panels you want to protect with PPF, otherwise the film may not stick to your paint during installation.
Norm at Capital PPF specializes in custom installations for the most invisibility & has done this for 19 years. He can also install pre-cut patterns and has the equipment and software to do so but still chooses custom installations in most cases. No matter which installation method he uses he wraps as many edges as possible. This adds time to the installation but always results in a more invisible installation.
It depends on what panels you want to protect. For example, a Full Hood and Front Bumper will be a one day installation to be picked up the next day. A Full Front End will be a two day installation. A Full Vehicle can be 5-7 days fully dedicated to your vehicle as we do not double book.
No. We have never needed to require deposits or full payments prior to installing film. Our customers are quite happy to pay after seeing the quality our work and are completely satisfied with the installation.
1. Please wash your car within a day or two of your appointment. We prepare the panels being protected using several cleaning methods for the best results but we prefer the vehicle itself be relatively clean upon arrival.
2. If your vehicle is not being driven straight from the Tesla dealership to our shop, you may want to have some matching touch up paint so we can touch up any larger chips before applying film. We see chips within 100 miles of driving a new car, so try to avoid highway driving and tailgating until it is protected.
